"Old Gits" Award Nomination Scandal

The UFFA has been rocked by a fresh scandal following yesterday's announcement of the shortlist for the Community Manager of the Season award:

The shortlist in full:
  • Colin Mills
  • Paul Wheeler
  • Michael Marsden
  • Kenny Purdy
  • Richard Millar
  • Jose Arqued
  • Amjad Parkar
  • Kevin Bristow
  • Jordi Calvo
  • Sturla Pettersen

A number of these managers have been accused in some quarters of trying to manipulate the shortlist for the award by trading nominations throughout the season. Rumours further fueled by the departure of Colin Mills and 6 others on this shortlist -- affectionately known as "the old gits" in certain circles -- from the UFFA earlier in the season after it was revealed Mills' club, Dukes Park Dons, were under investigation by the authorities.

A spokesman for the UFFA this evening urged managers to vote for Richard Millar, Amjad Parkar or Sturla Pettersen. The Cloughite will go one further and encourage you to vote for our very own Amjad Parkar who's dedication to community projects deserves recognition from his peers.
