Media Deals Agreed

Media deals for the coming season were announced yesterday, £590 million was shared between the nine federations.

Chart build on http://charts.hohli.com

Overall membership of the UFFA has remained relatively stable, but most importantly the number of active members in the union rose 8% to 452 member clubs.

The big news is the closure of the Nighttime Football Association, who have struggled for numbers in recent seasons. The big beneficiaries of this move are the Social Football Association who were the association of choice for the ex-NFA members, seeing the SFA rise to to the top of the FA rankings alongside the PFA. The other major change is the Xtreme Football Association's decision to move to an early evening schedule (6pm-9pm), which has re-invogorated the once-struggling association following a 33% growth in membership from last season.

Media Deals Agreed

Media deals for the coming season were announced yesterday, £609 million was shared between the ten federations. However it made pretty bleak reading for UFFA members.

Chart build on http://charts.hohli.com

Overall membership of the UFFA has dropped to a record low of only 570, an 8% drop from last season's membership. However, more worrying is the number of active members in the union, with only 433 active member clubs taking part in the coming season serious questions about the long term future of the union are beginning to be asked.

The PFA continues it's rise to dominance, with a record media deal worth £1.18m for each of it's 71 member clubs. Things are not so bright at the once strong XFA, who seem to be heading towards meltdown having lost half their members over the past 3 seasons, having suffered a further 25% loss in membership from last season's figures..

The writing appears to be on the wall for the NFA, with membership sitting precariously close to the minimum required (16) under UFFA regulations. Further federation consolidation would appear to be on the cards in season 10.

Media Deals Agreed

Media deals for the coming season were announced today, £658 million was shared between the ten federations. For the first time in recent memory the XEFA was not able to secure the best deal for their members, it was the CWA who secured the best deal (worth 1.12m per club) with the PFA second with a deal worth 1.13m per club.

Perhaps alarmingly, membership of the UFFA has dropped 12% from 709 to only 619 member clubs, leading to the closure of the Super Evening Football Association following last season's closure of the Early Evening Football Association. However, the percentage of inactive clubs in the union remains static at 26% of overall membership.

The only federation to see a growth in membership (discounting the merger between the SEFA and PFA) was the SFA, rising from 37 to 42 members. The WCA remained stable at 39 member clubs but every other federation saw a reduction in membership, with the XFA worst affected -- suffering a 20% drop in membership compared to last season.

Media Deals Agreed

Media deals for the coming season were announced today, with over £725 million on the table in total, a small reduction from last season's media package. Once again, the XEFA negogiated the strongest package for their members, but their position as the top federation was weakened significantly, suffering a £0.03m/club drop. The big gainers this season were the AEFA and CWA, whose media deals increased by £0.03m per member club.

Overall UFFA membership was static, remaining at 709, but the number of inactive clubs in the union rose to 187 (26%) -- an increase of 3% from season 6's figures.

Media Deals Agreed

Media deals for the coming season were announced today, with over £730 million on the table in total, over £50m more than last season's media package. This year the XEFA negogiated the strongest package for their members, in a deal worth £1.14m per club. Most federations, however, saw a decrease in the relative value of their media deals per member, with the EEFA coming off the worst -- losing £30k per club compared to last season's deal.

Overall UFFA membership has grown by 60 teams since last season, but the number of inactive clubs in the union rose to 166, or 23% of all union members -- an increase of 4% from season 5's figures.

Media Deals Agreed

Media deals for the coming season were announced today, with over £675 million on the table in total, less than last years' £681.2 million media package. This year saw a four way tie for the top media deal, with the PFA, XEFA, AEFA and NFA all agreeing a deal worth £1.11m per club, however this represented a fall in media income of 0.05m per club for the XEFA.

The SFA benefitted most from the renegotiated media deals, agreeing a deal worth an extra £0.06m per club over last seasons' deal.

Overall UFFA membership has grown by 18 teams since last season, and for the first time there are official stats available indicating the number of inactive teams (for four weeks or longer) in the union. At the start of the season these inactive teams account for 19% of all union members.
